To: To all staff
Pilgrim Hospital Boston, Boston

The NHS staff are amazing. We came into A&E and knew there would be a wait but they work so hard, early hours of the morning. Can't thank them enough for what they did for my partner, Shane Keal who was seen in 3 hours and sent straight to X-ray and was seen straight away. I am not sure of the outcome as of yet but so far the men and women who work here go above and beyond so pleased we have the NHS 💙 thanks guys and gals.

To: Reception staff at Upton and GP Poole
The Adam Practice - Upton Surgery, Poole

Just wanted to say how impressed I was at the service we received last week - I filled in a klinik request for my daughter and very quickly received a phonecall from the receptionist to tell me that whilst she couldn’t be seen at our usual Upton surgery, she could be seen at the Poole branch that afternoon. The GP we saw at Poole was very helpful, and thorough also … thank you all.

Alison you saw me last week and administered a steroid injection to my knee. For years I have struggled with pain/stiffness and lack of mobility. You have improved my pain by 90% and I thank you so much for your professionalism and care.

To: Ann - Blood Test
The Adam Practice, Lifeboat Quay, Poole

Ann was amazing today. I am not confident at all with blood tests and Ann made me feel at ease, comfortable in the surroundings and confident that she was going to do the test well! It was lovely talking to Ann and her passion for her role really showed. She really cares about her patients and their experience at the practice.

To: Reception Team and Dr Davidson
Birtley Medical Group, County durham

After an allergic reaction, I rang for a home visit this morning after a shaky start with the call system regarding times to call for appointments and home visits I was eventually steered in the right direction, and after a consultation with Dr Davidson who prescribed the appropriate medication which was organized for delivery, as I am housebound, a busy buy which deserves a big well done for the team.

To: Jo - midwife on the Labour Ward at Warwick Hospital on Thursday 2nd May
University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, Coventry

Hello, I just wanted to say thank you again and make other people aware of how great Jo was to me on the above date when I had to visit the labour ward. I was 31 weeks pregnant at the time and significantly struggling with physical symptoms which also made my mental state not the best. Jo was very efficient, informative and so incredibly kind to me. She obviously had other ladies to look after too but I really feel like she went out of her way to support me and she made a big difference. Please can her manager or someone recognise how good she was as it really does make all the difference.

To: Hannah Williams
University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire, Coventry

On 15th April I was brought into A & E by an ambulance due to being in a huge amount of pain and heavily pregnant. I believe it was Hannah's first day on her placement in A & E as she was a student nurse I think from Coventry Uni and she was nothing short of AMAZING. It felt like she was my own personal carer she was so attentive and kind. She spent time with me, listened to me, supported me and reassured me. She also made me laugh and smile while I was there and did everything she could to help me. If she hadn't had told me it was her first day I would have never known because she was so good, so professional and helped me massively. I find being in hospital very difficult and she definitely eased that up a lot for me. Please recognise that she went the extra mile and did nothing but shine on her first day!

Hannah Darbyshire

To: Hearing Aid Dept
Lincoln County Hospital, Lincoln

Friday lunchtime my hearing aid went on the blink, we are going away for a week on Monday so visited the County Hospital on the chance someone could help. A Lady sorted it out with a new hearing aid in very few minutes and we were on our way. Great service and I wish to say thank you.

To: Dr Vicky Woolridge and trainee
Morecambe Health Centre, Morecambe

Many thanks for listening to me, helping me with my pain, and believing in me when no one else did. I was at my lowest point and your help was very much appreciated. Wish many more doctors were as compassionate about mental health as you. Thank you xx

Thank you to the doctors and trainee doctors in the Breast Clinic at Whittington Hospital and the Imaging clinic, particularly the staff providing mammogram and ultrasound services. I was supported by several staff, moving quickly between tests and departments on the afternoon of Tuesday 16 April 2024. Everybody was extremely efficient and kind.

Say Thank You

Has a special doctor, nurse or healthcare worker impacted your life recently?

Then say a big thank you to NHS staff with a virtual message of appreciation on TAP’s Healthcare Thanking Wall.

This virtual wall is packed with thank you messages for NHS staff - so this is your chance to say “thank you doctor”, “thank you nurses”, or “thank you carers”. Recent years have shown the importance of showing appreciation to our NHS, and we want to continue this tradition and make gratitude a habit.

Saying thank you to NHS staff on our dedicated Healthcare Thanking Wall couldn’t be simpler. It’s free, it lasts longer than a physical card, and it’s better for the environment, too.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Click the ‘Say Thank You!’ button.

  2. Decide who you’d like to appreciate today - you can choose to thank a nurse, doctor or even a whole hospital.

  3. Fill in the details on the web form, along with your special thank you message to NHS staff.

Once you’re done, your chosen nurse, doctor or hospital will receive your thank you message, and it will be displayed for all to see on our virtual Thanking Wall (but you can also choose to make it private, if you like!)

Unsure what to write in your message? Feel free to browse through all the thank you quotes for nurses and doctors on this page for inspiration. This wall works as a bank of real-life quotes of thanks to nurses and doctors - perfect for helping you to put your feelings into words.

Alternatively, just speak from the heart and write your own thank you message for nurse staff and doctors, or thank you words for carers. Healthcare workers will be overjoyed to hear about the impact of their work. It’s just like one big NHS thank you letter.

Show your appreciation and say “thank you NHS” today!
